Welcome to
the website dedicated to my Fiat Grande
Punto - Sporting.
The first big news of the new year is Fiat's
Grande Punto, which will be one of the
largest superminis available when it goes on
sale in the UK early in 2006.
Not only does it look great, but the new
Fiat is also good to drive and more spacious
inside than its predecessor.
Grande Punto is based on the Fiat/GM "Small"
platform, and comes with 3 or 5 doors and 13
body colours. We've already driven the Grande
Punto and, overall, it has impressed. It feels nimble
and corners well, although it could do with
more feedback through the steering.
There is nothing that could explain such a low price,
and even the interior is well made with all necessary gadgets.
The gearbox shifts easily and ride quality
is also a strong point, with only the worst
of town bumps getting through to the cabin
to unsettle occupants.
Six engines will be available from launch: a
65bhp 1.2 petrol, a new 77bhp 1.4 (our
favourite) and four diesels producing
between 75bhp and 130bhp.
Also, there is more to come until the end of 2007. A 95bhp
1.4-litre diesel engine will be available, as well as
stronger petrol engines with 120 and 200 bhp.
New Fiat Punto is made firmly and without comprimises.
It has good equipment, differ engines, great finish and
exceptional styling. Great driving and reliability
is something that Italian school had always been known for.
